Notes transcribed from audio recording:

Wow only 20 minutes, that's my first time. So the next time I know what I'm expecting. But once you get in there it is kind of intimidating because it is so huge. I didn't expect it to be that big. And I don't know for some reason I already got a fear of like deep, deep water, wide open water like that. Then having it somewhat confined but still that was a lot more space then I expected and it's really, really dark. It was kind of thick in there to breath-the water temperature was fine.

It's like once you are in there you do get into the meditative mind set. You don't even feel the weight of your body at all. It's like your just floating in outer space and you can start to meditate while you are in there. It is really, really relaxing. You don't feel your body at all, like you don't have a body. You are just floating around. It is really calming and relaxing.

I was a little thrown off by noises or something like that. And you can't let your scary thoughts get in the way, think about the Jaws movies or Lake Placid with the huge crocodile or anything. One thing I did realize is that I am somewhat afraid of the dark. But you pass that once you get your mind straight. But I do want to try it again, especially now that I know what I'm getting into because it is intimidating first go around. But it is a really good stress reliever and it's really good on my back because I've been stressed out for a while. It felt somewhat like a massager on my back. But again like I said, it's like you have no body.

Another thing, one thing I have a lot of is phantom pain that's from the accident. But that was like completely different. At some points in time, like in the beginning of the accident it did feel like, you know, it always feels like your legs are still there. But this time it really felt like I could splash my feet. And with the stuff they told me about with the visualizations, this made it so much more easier. It was like it was more concentrated to the point of where my legs were missing.

It just felt really, really good and your skin is so soft afterwards. And that's another thing, after you get out and you rinse off, you get a different feeling. You know after your all stressed out and you soak in the tub and you get out, it's a better feeling then that. You just feel like, it's like you really have no need for drugs or alcohol if that was an escape for you. If you do this every week, you don't need it, it's like once I got out of the shower I wanted to get back in the tank because you do need a minute after you get out and rinse off to really gather your thoughts and your feelings. You feel it's a good feeling though. It seems like you could get addicted to it. It could be your new drug or something.

But definitely if you have problems sleeping or your all stressed out or if you have a lot on your mind, this will take care of that, definitely. It's like now you are ready for some other relaxing thing, whatever else you do to relax, another stress reliever. But, even now I still feel good, you do feel better then just soaking in the hot tub, all the other stuff I used to do to relax. You really do feel relaxed. If you have trouble sleeping, feel like you could go right to sleep now, a nice cup of tea and fall right to sleep. This is cool, it's a good invention.

Ok, when I went in I had on shorts and a sports bra. But naked would probably be another step forward and plus staying in there longer too.

Being in the tank makes it seem like your floating out in space, especially when you get to a point when your just like completely still, no movement. The only thing you hear is like the drops from the water but other then that it is completely, completely still. It makes you think you are floating in space. And it does make you think about spirituality. I know I thought about spirituality, I know I thought about spirituality for a little bit. Then family, then I let that go because you know, there is always problems at home or whatever. But you stop thinking about that, you really, really do think about your spirituality. I always did feel like you need to be serious, people really need to be solid with it. If you are going to be committed to it then be committed to it.

But it is completely, completely relaxing. Especially if you want to hide and get away that's like a new escape from whatever you want to escape from.

You should pass this idea along to doctors in rehabs, I'm thinking once a day is cool, even starting off once a week to get used to it.
