ReBirth Flotation Tank Sessions: Instructions
1.) Try to empty your bladder before showering.
2.) Shower before entering the tank, be sure to rinse off all soap, shampoo and body oils. Do not put on any deodorant, perfumes, hairspray, oils, etc.
3.) Use a clean bathrobe and sandals (provided) to get from the bathroom to the tank.
4.) Secure the tarp to the hooks for privacy, then remove all clothing before entering the tank. You should also remove all jewelry for comfort and since salt is corrosive.
5.) When entering and exiting the tank, be careful not to slip. While entering, when you close the door, gently pull the lip of foil inside the tank. (to ensure it is light proof).
6.) Lie down on your back, straighten out and relax. Do not bottom out for an extended period of time to avoid burns from the water bed heaters. Be careful not to get the water in your eyes and mouth, it will sting and taste bad but it should not be harmful.
7.) If you bump into the sides, try to gently ease off the sides and bottom to center yourself and try to relax. If you push off the sides you will bounce back and forth.
8.) You can open your eyes for a short time, to see what it looks like, but it is suggested that you keep them closed to prevent drops from falling or splashing in.
9.) If you feel uncomfortable in any way, please exit the tank. You can return if you feel better. For example If you get drops of salt water in your eyes, get out and wipe them with a clean rag, then re-enter.
10. ) Let the operator know if you want to be notified or checked on at a certain time.
11.) Before exiting the tank try to crouch and drip dry for a little bit.
12.) Shower soon after exiting the tank, drying off and putting on your robe. Rinse all the salt off and gently rinse out your ears. Salt will crystallize as it cools.
